Ten Questions Interview

AP1. In your opinion what's easier, dubbing for a video game or anime?
YL: That's tough, but at least in anime, we get a visual reference of what's going on, whereas in video games, not only are we flying blind, but we're moving at lightning speed. On the other hand, with video games, we rarely have to match the mouth movements...

AP2. Which one of your characters is the most like you?
YL: They're all like me in one way or another, but I would have to say the award goes to -surprise, surprise - Yuri, from Kyo Kara Maoh, and from non-anime animation, maybe Superman from Legion of Superheroes.

AP3. What is your favorite place to travel?
YL: New Zealand, I think. I just got back and it was amazing.

AP4. What kind of music would we find on your MP3 player?
YL: An eclectic mix that would make you wonder who the hell I could possibly be. There's everything from big band, to punk, to classical, to D.J. Jinnai's dance remixes of anime theme songs.

AP5. What are your upcoming projects?
TL: A new X-Men animated series, the third installment of the recent .Hack// video games, the new Saint's Row video game, and much much more...

AP6. What sort of things can we expect from Monkey Kingdom Productions?
YL: We're currently in post-production on our first live-action feature film, a psychological thrilled entitled, TUMBLING AFTER. Keep an eye on our website for how to see it when it's done.

AP7. What is the best thing about working on a anime show?
YL: The fans. And that I'm an anime nerd, a total fanboy.

AP8. What was your most outrageous con experience?
YL: I think, the after-hours, no holds barred, "adult" panel I took part in at Otakon last year. Oh, the things that were said... And once I was glomped by a crazed fan in Austin when I had a 104-degree fever, and I totally fell over and couldn't see straight. And after all that, it turns out she totally thought I was some OTHER voice actor.

AP9. When not working, what can we find YaYa doing?
YL: I don't know. Who's this YaYa?
(* We screwed up and gave Yuri ...Yaya's question. Yuri was a good sport about it! It must be the Y's - LOL)

AP10. Tell us something about Yuri, which you would like your fans to know?
YL: It's impossible to choose my favorite character, so, please, torture me with this question no longer. Also, I try and respond to fan mail, but please don't take it personally if I don't or it takes a while to do so. I'm so busy these days... Oh, and I'm practicing yoga now, and I highly recommend it. Oh, and go and see HOT FUZZ. It's brilliant.
