Summary: Yusuke Urameshi is a normal middle school student, until he gets hit by a car.. He died  but he then get a proposition for a deal from a Grim Reaper named Botan. The Grim Reaper tells him, he wasn't supposed to die that day. So the king of the spirit world tells him that if he will become a spirit detective he will put his soul back in his body and he will live. Yusuke agrees. He befriends an arch enemy Kuwabara. A demon Hiei and a reincarnated fox-demon Kurama. Yusuke also is given spirit powers to  fight off demons that cross the portal to the human world.
