Chapter One - Turning Point
Scene 1 Ethan Hardy begins to talk to the audience. EH= It’s amazing what can happen in an instance. You can be a kid with a happy Childhood and then in one moment, you lose the people that are most important to you in your mind, body, heart and soul. How things began, is still a mystery to me. At age 7, life would embrace a “Turning point” End of scene
Scene 2 Age 7 Ethan at age 7 comes into the house and says this. EH (age 7) = I’m home! (While looking to his right) huh? He sees his father, on his knees, getting shot right in the chest and falls right onto the ground. Ethan then says this. EH (age 7) =No!!!! (While running to his deceased father) Dad! Dad! (Gets to the body) Dad! Please get up! Please! Then an unknown man with the gun begins to speaks ?= (Laughing) Pitiful. Face it, kid. Your father had it coming. (Before leaving) See you on the other side, kid. He leaves. End of scene
Scene 3 Ethan begins to talk to the audience: (while a picture of a hospital pops up) EH= My life from that point on, would become a random series of events. After my mom witnessed my dad’s murder, she become a vegetable and was incapable of taking care of me. My cerebellum couldn’t handle it at the time. (A picture of a plane comes up)A month later, I was relocated to one place I was the least expecting: Tokyo, Japan. End of scene.
Scene 4 Ethan continues talk to the audience while he’s on the plane. EH= Japan would become the definitive point of my life. Ethan (age 7) talks to the agents that were escorting him to his destination. EH (age 7) = Uh… Sir, why am going to Japan? Seems so far away. Agent 1= You’re going to live with your uncle-in-law. EH (age 7) = Why? Agent 1= He’s the only known family member we know who is living. Ethan begins to talk to the audience again. EH= My uncle-in-law was always dubbed “Master”. Nobody knew his real name. Not even my own aunt. She died when giving birth to my cousin, Shirow. He’s about a year older than me. Master and I had never met face to face until that point. The only things I knew about him was that he was a world champion in martial arts, a champion in wrestling, and that he had a dojo as well. It goes to show he keeps to that code of keeping things at a certain level. End of scene Scene 5 Ethan and the agents land in Japan, head into a limo, and head towards the destination. When they arrive, they drop off Ethan (age 7) at the bottom of a large stone staircase that leads to what he thinks, is Master’s house. Ethan begins to speak to the audience at this point: EH= At that point, I was just wondering how I was going to deal with this. Ethan (age 7) begins to speak. EH (age 7) = (Looking up) I guess this is it. (Sighing) I better start moving my way up. (Speaking in his mind while going up the steps) Man… I don’t know what to expect and these steps are going to be a killer on my legs. End of scene
Scene 6 Ethan begins to talk to the audience, while Ethan (age 7) climbs up the steps. EH= Oh, yeah. It was a killer. But, I manage to get to the top. When Ethan (age 7) reaches the top, he drops his stuff and says this. EH (age 7) (breathing heavily and sighing) = Huh? (Looking up) I walk up all the way for this? (In his mind) An apartment building? Ethan (age 7) walks into the complex and then a mysterious woman comes to greet Ethan. ?= Hi! EH (age 7) = Huh!? Ethan talks to the audience. EH= I didn’t know who she was at the time, But, all that I knew that she was very “kawaii” which means cute. That was the first Japanese word I ever learned and she taught it to me. The mystery girl begins to speak to Ethan (age 7). ?= So, you must be Ethan Hardy. You are so kawaii. EH (age 7) = Uh… Uh… yes…. ?=Hmmm. My name is Lin Misato. Please to meet you. EH (age 7) (nervous) = Are you master’s new wife? LM (giggling) = Why, of course not. EH (age 7) =Oh. LM= I’m actually one of his trainers in his dojo. I offered to take you in to live me. EH (age 7) (with a shock look on his face) = What!? Why? LM= Your uncle isn’t much of a people’s person. He was going to have you stay at a shelter. EH (age 7) = Really? In that case, thank you very much. LM= (Smiling) Ok! Now, let’s get you inside. On the way up to the stairs, Ethan asks Lin something. EH (age 7) = Uh… Ms. Lin? LM= Yes? EH (age 7) = What does “kawaii” mean? LM= It’s Japanese for “cute” EH= Oh. End of scene.
Scene 7 Ethan begins to talk to the audience. EH= How this happen, I don’t know. Either it was luck or something else. But, that first night, in that apartment, it would be full of nightmares. Ethan (age 7) was in his new room, sleeping, he starts to have nightmares of what happened to his father. This goes on for 2 minutes. After this occurs, he wakes up in a cold sweat. He gets out of the bed, heads towards Lin’s room; he gets near her bed and says this. EH (age 7) = Ms. Lin? LM (yawning) = What do you want, Ethan? EH (age 7) (nervous) = Can I sleep with you for tonight? I had nightmares. LM (tired) = Ok… EH (age 7) = Thank You. Ethan (age 7) climbs up and gets into the bed. Before Lin could go back to sleep, Ethan (age 7) gives Lin a hug and holds on to her. Lin then says this. LM= Hey! What are- She sees Ethan (age 7) knocks out and then says this. LM= Sweet dreams, Ethan. Especially, after what went you threw. End of Chapter One... |
