Chapter Seven - Trails for the "X" match!
Scene 1 The scene focuses on outside of the dojo from an overhead VIEW. Then, the scene focuses on Ethan, Shirow, and Min, all three were sitting side-by-side, and then, master appears from his office. Master then speaks. M= Students, I like to take this time to let you know that I’m proud of the hard work that you have put into this dojo. You three are the best of the best that I’ve ever seen and that is why have selected you three to represent this very foundation against our two rivals. Ethan then speaks. EH= That sounds great, Master. M= Only this time, the winners declared their dojo as the best. EH= What kind of match is this? M= It’s something far different from anything you all ever competed in. It will be a… “X” match! EH, S, AND Mi= What?! End of scene.
Scene 2 Ethan, Shirow, and Min are in the living area of Lin’s place. Shirow then yells out something. S= What the hell is an “X” match?! EH= Keep your voice down, Shirow. Man, can’t you give you baby attitude a break just for one day? S= What you did you- Min cuts in. Mi= Listen, both of you, quit your sibling rivalry for two minutes and focuses, alright?! Both EH and S= Sorry. Mi= Good. Now, who knows about this type of match? Ethan raises his hand and speaks. EH= I know what it is. As matter of fact, I‘ve competed in it once. S=Hey, you you’ve never told me before. EH= It happened two years ago when I went to Puerto Rico. A picture of Ethan in pain appears. S= Now I remember. You couldn’t train or compete for two weeks. The scene refocuses on the living area and Min speaks. Mi= So, can you describe the match to us? A picture of a six-sided ring appears and Ethan speaks. EH= All right. Basically, we’re going to be competing in a six-sided ring. But, he’s the part that going to amaze you or scare you into fear: there will be four polls, which are fifteen feet high, set up at four corners. Then, two ropes will be connected at top of the four polls to form an “X”. They are two ways to win: either A. if you can, try to balance yourself on the middle of the “X” and grab the trophy hanging. Or B. You can risk a bad fall and leap yourself high enough to grab the damn thing. That’s how I won it. You’ll need to increase a few things: your grip and stamina. You’ll probably need to get your legs more fluid than usually. M= Wow. I guess then… it’s a good thing we have these two weeks to train. S (sighs) = I don’t know about you two. But, I’m starting tonight. I’ll see you two later. Shirow leaves. End of Scene.
Scene 3 The scene focuses on the living area, only it’s dark, and Ethan is sound asleep on the couch. Then, he gets teleported again. Ethan is sound asleep and Hiroku starts plays with his ears and speak in her mind. HI= Wow. His ears are so playful. All of a sudden, Ethan wakes up and screams. EH= gahhh! Cut it out! Will ya! HI= Sorry. It’s not my fault your ears are so playful. EH (Sighs) = All right. What now? HI= As you know, there are two halves to the last power. This will probably be your biggest attack yet. EH= Do you know the location of the first half? HI= Not yet. I still have to trace it. I’ll keep you posted. EH=Is that all you have to tell me? (a pause for a moment and Hiroku looks up at the sky) Come on, Hiroku. There’s something else, isn’t it? HI (waits a moment) =The other day you asked me “why I was helping you acquired these magnificent powers? Well… (Sighs) uh… because… EH= Because why? (Hiroku doesn’t answer) Come on, Hiroku. Be straight forward with me once. Why? Hiroku clears her mind and then says this. HI= Ok. Ethan, when I was born, my father disappeared due to fact of this same journey… looking for these ridiculous powers… My sister told me this. Ethan then speaks in his mind EH (in his mind) = Ironic. (To Hiroku) Listen, Hiroku, I’m sorry if I was- Hi= It’s ok. You didn’t know. (Turns her back to Ethan) See you soon. End of scene.
Scene 4 Ethan talks to the audience. EH= At that point, my epidemic has somewhat connected me one fashion or another, with some people that surround me. It seems almost surreal. Even though I figure it out, it still doesn’t make sense. Two weeks later. The scene focuses on the training area of the dojo. Ethan, Min, and Shirow are training hard the night before the “X” match. After the training, they all met by the exit and talk to each other. EH= Tomorrow. (Pauses for a moment) I never thought this day would come. S= What? Are you excited? EH= (Chuckling for a moment) I don’t know what to think. S= Now, is that a way to think. See you later. EH= Later. Shirow leaves and then, Min speaks to Ethan. Mi= So, shall we be on our way home? EH= You go ahead. I’ll catch up. Mi= Ok. See you at home. (Pauses) Oh, Ethan? EH= Yes. Min approaches Ethan face to face. EH= Thanks. For everything. (Kissing Ethan on the cheek and Ethan blushes) Bye, Bye, Boo! Min leaves and Ethan than speaks in his mind. EH= Now, that was sweet. End of scene.
Scene 5 The scene focuses on Ethan on his way home and then, Hiroku appears and speaks to Ethan. HI= Hi! Hi! HI= I found out where the first half is. EH= Really?! Where is it? HI= Ponder this: It’s in a place deep inside within yourself. EH= What? HI= Nuff’ said! EH= Hiroku, wait! Hiroku disappears. EH= Damn! (Sarcastic) My life just keeps getting better and better. End of scene.
Scene 6 Ethan continues to walk home and thinks about what Hiroku told him. Ethan then speaks in his mind. EH= Someplace deep within my soul. (Thinks more, stops, and then, looks up to the sky) Is it that? End of chapter. End of Chapter ... |
